Your local movers
Itchen is the riverside area on the east bank of the River Itchen, around the old Itchen Ferry village. The hamlet took its name from the fishing boats its people used to ferry passengers across the river, until the Floating Bridge took over the crossing in 1836.
The name also lives on from the Itchen urban district, formed in 1903 from Sholing and its neighbours and joined to Southampton in 1920. Much of the old village was destroyed by bombing in September 1940, and today the area sits around the Itchen Bridge, between Woolston and Peartree.
Homes here range from flats close to the river to houses on the streets around Sea Road. We check lifts, stairs and loading points in advance, and plan where the van can stop.
The Itchen Bridge, a toll bridge, lands right here, so moves across the river to the city centre, Ocean Village and Chapel are only a few minutes.

★★★★★I used this to move within Southampton, and then out of Southampton a few years later, and both times it was a very positive experience. From first message to the last box leaving the truck, I was assured about the move.
