How do office removals in Southampton work?

Man and a Van Southampton plans each office move around your business hours. We survey the space, agree a fixed quote and a moving plan, then move desks, chairs, IT hardware and filing in the evening, at the weekend or in phases. Furniture is rebuilt at the new premises so your team can start work the next morning.

Office relocations with the least disruption

An office move only works if your business keeps running. That's why we plan every relocation around your schedule, not ours. We can move after close of business, over a weekend, or in phases one department at a time, so your phones stay answered and your customers barely notice.

Since 2010 we've helped Southampton businesses of every size relocate, from sole traders shifting a handful of desks to multi-room offices with server equipment, storage cabinets and meeting-room furniture. Our crews are careful with IT hardware, methodical about labelling, and focused on getting you working in your new premises as quickly as possible.

Who we move

We move professional offices, agencies, clinics and treatment rooms, shops and showrooms, workshops, charities and serviced-office tenants across Southampton and Hampshire. We also clear and move furniture for landlords and facilities managers between tenancies.

One point of contact

You deal with the same small team from your first call to the last desk being rebuilt. There's no call centre and no agency staff, just people who know your plan and turn up when they say they will.

Local know-how

Moving offices in Southampton: what we plan for

Every Southampton business location has its own access rules. After 15 years of commercial moves from our base on Hill Lane, this is what we check before moving day.

City centre

City-centre & waterfront offices

Offices around the city centre and Ocean Village often have shared lifts, loading bays and building managers. We agree lift bookings and loading times with your landlord in advance, and protect communal areas.

Business parks

Business parks & science parks

Moves to and from business parks around Chilworth, Nursling, Hedge End and Chandler's Ford usually mean easier parking but strict site rules. We work to your site's induction, access and security requirements.

M27 · M271 · M3

Routes across Hampshire

Most of our Hampshire office moves use the M27, M271 and M3. Moving in the evening or at the weekend avoids the worst rush-hour traffic on the bridges and ring roads.

Parking tip: if your premises have no loading bay or the street is permit-only, apply to Southampton City Council to suspend a parking bay for moving day. Apply as early as you can, and tell us the location so we can plan the loading.

It was a small move but handily carried out, despite a steep and narrow staircase. The sofa had to be taken apart and put back together again, which was neatly and cheerfully accomplished. The move was well done.

FAQs

Office removals FAQs

How much does an office removal cost in Southampton?

Every office removal is quoted as one fixed price after a free survey. The quote depends on the number of desks and workstations, how much IT equipment and filing there is, access at both buildings, the distance and whether you need an evening or weekend move.

How long does an office move take?

A small office of up to 5 desks usually moves in half a day or one evening. Offices of 6 to 15 desks usually move in one evening or a Saturday, and larger offices over a weekend or in phases.

Can you move our office outside business hours?

Yes. Most of our office moves happen in the evening or at the weekend, so your team can finish work on Friday and start in the new office on Monday morning.

Do you move computers and IT equipment?

Yes. We wrap and move monitors, PCs, printers and server cabinets separately from furniture. We recommend your IT provider disconnects and reconnects network and phone systems at each end.

Do you dismantle and reassemble office furniture?

Yes. Desks, shelving, storage units and meeting tables are taken apart, moved and rebuilt to your new floor plan.

Can you move our office in phases?

Yes. We can move one department or floor at a time over several evenings or weekends, so part of your business keeps working throughout.

Are our furniture and equipment insured during the move?

Yes. Every office removal includes goods in transit and public liability cover from collection to delivery.

How far ahead should we book an office move?

Four to eight weeks ahead is ideal, especially for weekend moves and lease-end dates. Contact us as early as possible so we can survey both buildings and plan access.

Can you remove old office furniture we no longer need?

Yes. We can take unwanted furniture for recycling or move it to storage or another site at the same time as your relocation.

Do you move businesses outside Southampton?

Yes. We move offices and commercial premises across Hampshire, including Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford, Hedge End, Totton, Romsey and Winchester, and anywhere in the UK.

Ready to move your office?

Tell us both addresses and your preferred date, and we'll arrange a free survey and a fixed quote.
